WebMar 27, 2014 · It's a good idea to use a swivel when drop shotting if using a regular hook and a palamar knot. I use a crazy alberto knot to join braid to flourocarbon. I use about an 8 foot leader of flouro and this goes through the guides. I also use a VMC spinshot hook so I don't have to worry about line twist. WebApr 1, 2024 · As the topic says, can you use a mono on your main line then put in a fluoro leader (either via a knot or swivel)? Or better to just spool the entire line with fluoro? I am planning to use 4lb mono then use 4lb fluoro as my leader. Does that make sense? I'm fishing trout primarily.
